What To Bring

Pack LIGHT! - you won’t need much. Dress is VERY casual - keep your gear to a minimum. Pack your belongings in a SOFT duffelbag rather than a hard suitcase or ‘wheelie’ which is hard to stow on board.

Daytime temperature will usually run 75-90 degrees; night time 55-80. But with the wind blowing it can get cool. Water temp ranges from 68-85 depending on the season. While a bathing suit will work fine on hot, sunny days, you’ll want a wetsuit (2-3mm thick) for snorkling.

STUFF YOU’LL NEED

• beach towel & hand towel (for drying your feet when we go to shore)
• rain jacket (yes, it might rain) or waterproof/Gore-Tex windbreaker
• fleece top and sweatpants (it can get cool at night – low 60s)
• long sleeve shirt or turtle neck
• jeans
• shorts (2)
• bathing suit (very small bikinis for women)
• t-shirts (4-5)
• flops or TEVAS
• tennis shoes for hiking and/or boat shoes (must have white soles!) and socks (2)
• mask & snorkel (+ fins if you want them)
• sun hat and sun glasses (maybe a spare of each and Chums® or some kind of retainer)
• prescription/reading glasses (and maybe a spare pair)
• SPF 30+ and Chapstick
• book (or a really good kaleidoscope)
• prescription medicines
• insect repellent
• sea-sickness medications (Trans Derm Scop patches seem to work well and last 3 days but you need a prescription; Dramamine, Bonine, or Meclazine pills also may help)
• passport, credit cards, drivers license, $$$$ (about $200 in small bills is good to have)
• toilet kit (toothbrush, band-aids, shampoo, flask of single malt Scotch)
• headlamp or small flashlight with extra batteries
• small daypack
• sense of humor

BRING IF YOU HAVE IT OR THINK YOU MIGHT NEED IT

• small Motorola "Talk-About" walkie talkies
• personal sailing gear (PFD, harness, tether, gloves, etc.)
• wetsuit (shortie or 3/2 convertible)
• lycra top (sun protection)
• ear plugs
• booties and toenail polish
• camera, film, spare batteries
• trinkets, t-shirts, hats, etc. to trade for lobsters! Rolex watches also work well.
• piano, spare tire, large porcelain figurine collection, St. Bernard guard dog
